Various apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook still exist on the Windows operating system. But Microsoft Corporation has decided to change the name of this brand from 'Office' to 'Microsoft 365'. However, permanently licensed versions of other Office apps including Excel will still be sold under the name 'Office 2021'. Microsoft Office was first launched in 1990. It is probably the most widely used Microsoft solution after Windows. And 32 years after its launch, Microsoft Office is getting a new name. From November this change will first come to various online apps of 'Office.com'. In January 2023, Windows 10, 11 and various 'Office' apps on iOS and Android operating systems will follow the same path. After that update, the apps will be renamed to 'Microsoft 365' with a new logo. While still looking very much like the English letter 'O', it will also look slightly different from the office logo. The latest Microsoft solution to add the 'Microsoft' name is Office. The platform's malware scanner 'Windows Defender' was renamed to 'Microsoft Defender' in mid-2019. The change adds to the name of eight Microsoft-branded solutions - Microsoft Threat Protection will be renamed Microsoft 365 Defender. Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection will be renamed Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.Office 365. Advanced Threat Protection will be renamed Microsoft Defender for Office 365. Microsoft Cloud App Security will be renamed as Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps. Axios’ Advanced Threat Protection will be renamed Microsoft Defender for Identity. Axios’ Security Center/Axios’ Defender will be renamed as Microsoft Defender for Cloud. Azios’ Defender for IoT will be renamed Microsoft Defender for IoT. Axio Sentinel will be renamed as Microsoft Sentinel However, Windows and Xbox names remain unchanged.
